Birmingham 2022: REACTION OF THE FLAG BEARERS

First flag bearer COT

You have been designated as one of the flag bearers of the Cameroon Olympic Team (COT) for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, how do you feel about this?

Well I feel very happy for this opportunity given to me as one of the flag bearers of the Cameroon Olympic Team even though this comes as a challenge for me because with this tittle I need to be outstanding in the sense that, I will have to make podiums and raise the colours of the Cameroon flag at every level.

How have you been preparing ahead of these games?

So far the preparation has been smooth, I have had the opportunity to compete with other world class athletes and in some continental competitions where I meet tuff** opponents who I am surely going to meet at the Commonwealth Games. Now I believe I am ready to compete the way I want to compete and go for victory.

What are your expectations during this Competition?

Like any other athlete, my goal is to bring medals to my country. As you know there are goals and there are major goals and I give priority to my major goal which is to have an excellent performance because I believe if you target for excellence the medals will follow both in the 100 and 200 meters where I will be competing.

Hello ARREY you have been chosen as one of the flag bearers of the Cameroon Olympic Team (COT) for the Birmingham 2022 games, what is your feeling about this?

I am very honoured to have been chooses to assume this position for the Birmingham Games and I think it will be a very good experience and a memorable one which will contribute in boosting me up.

How have you been preparing ahead of these games?

With the national staff and my colleagues, we have been preparing for a long time now, after the African Judo Championship we came back to Cameroon and continued preparations for the Birmingham 2022 Games. We are still working with the coaches and going on with the technical and tactical training and we are getting well prepared and I think the games will be memorable.

How do you apprehend your participation at these Birmingham Games and what are your expectations during this Competition?

It’s my first time of taking part in these games and I think it will be a very good experience for me and this participation will enable me discover what are the Commonwealth Games. My expectations during this competition will be to give the best of myself and at the end of the day come back with a medal, it doesn’t matter the colour but I have the feeling I will make Cameroon proud.
